| The Results are in! Our Stallion ZLA Xochtiel's CA or CEREBELLAR ABIOTROPHY marker test is N/N. This means he is not a carrier and is not affected with CA. Most Arabian breeders are familiar with CA, however for those that are not, here's a link with more info. CA Information This is good news for those that are concerned about passing this debilitating genetic disorder on to other breeds, or for those that have a carrier Arabian mare and are concerned about producing an affected foal. A copy of the test result from UC Davis will be available upon request to those who are considering breeding a mare to ZLA Xochtiel A big thanks to Lisa Goodwin-Campiglio for encouraging me to test my stallion and for the research and education on CA! |
