A thousand horse and none to ride! -
With flowing tail, and flying mane,
Wide nostrils never stretched by pain,
Mouths bloodless to the bit or rein,
And feet that iron never shod,
And flanks unscarred by spur or rod,
A thousand horse, the wild, the free,
Like waves that follow o'er the sea,
Came thickly thundering on,...

The Results are in!

Our Stallion ZLA Xochtiel's CA or
CEREBELLAR ABIOTROPHY
marker test is N/N.

This means he is not a carrier and is
not affected with CA.

Most Arabian breeders are familiar
with CA, however for those that are
not, here's a link with more info.
CA Information
This is good news for those that are
concerned about passing this
debilitating genetic disorder on to
other breeds, or for those that have a
carrier Arabian mare and are
concerned about producing an
affected foal.

A copy of the test result from UC
Davis will be available upon request
to those who are considering
breeding a mare to ZLA Xochtiel

A big thanks to
Lisa Goodwin-Campiglio for
encouraging me to test my stallion
and for the research and education
on CA!
