Human to Equine Relationship Coaching. Goals: We have three simple goals in mind, Trust, Respect and Safety. A representative from Dream River Stables can teach you to have a wonderful life long relationship with your horse through a series of coaching sessions. Respect and trust start on the ground, but you may have hit a brick wall with your horse, or simply don't know where to start. Allow us to show you ways to get your horse to do what you ask, and how to communicate effectively with him/her. Most lessons typically start with the basic ground work such as round pen exercises which can get most horses in your pocket! Once we get the basic building blocks down, if needed we can progress to more difficult challenges including riding instruction and coaching under saddle. Of course in this case your horse will need to be trained under saddle already. There is no need to use someone else's horse if you have your own, and no need to haul your horse to a training facility. This is what is unique about our service, we come to you and you learn with your own horse. Rates are $32.00 per hour and .50 cents per mile. You can have just one session or multiple sessions. Perhaps you have the skills, but need to fine tune them. We don't tell you what you have to do...we prefer to show you how to help yourself, and you know when you are comfortable and can stop. Therefore saving time and money by doing so. This service is unique to the Siouxland area, as of this time I haven't found another place in this area that offers the same program with personalized service. You would likely spend hundreds to attend week long clinics to learn something similar. In addition you'd have to take time off work, etc. The first session is typically an evaluation session. We will be honest and let you know if we think we can help you or not. There are simply some horses and owners that are not a good match...just like relationships with people, you may not get along with everyone! We prefer that you have a round pen or other enclosed area to work with your horse, and that he/she is at least halter broke. We do not train horses per say, we train people to communicate with horses more effectively. If your horse is hard to catch, load, bathe, or clip...there are often reasons or roadblocks to his/her training and a lack of understanding, that are many times correctable with the right communication.

Round Pen. Clinic Date 7/26/09 4:30-6:30 PM Objective: Learn the basic use of the round pen to communicate with and for better control..which equals better control under saddle To some the round pen looks like mindless running in circles, but it's not..and I will show you why!
1. Round pen work is based on herd dynamics and equine language--attend the clinic and learn why and how. 2. Learn how to read that language in your horse and what signs to watch for that you are getting through to your horse. 3. Feel the difference on the ground which makes a huge difference under saddle!
Will use our horses for demonstration, follow up clinics will allow students to bring their own horses for practice. You will see what a difference this will make in your horse relationships. The impact this short clinic or class will have on your life will be MIND BLOWING! Thanks to all who attended the clinic! It was great to meet you and such a great time!
